Ah Thursday, the day of the week where you are still motivated to get work done because you know the next day is Friday. I tend to get a lot done on Thursdays in anticipation for the weekend. I bet my boss wishes it was "Thursday Everyday." Hahahaha!
It is safe to say we both love our pairs of Thursday Boots. With so many different Direct-to-Consumer shoe and boot companies online claiming to be selling quality shoes for less (just as many are as are not), I was a little hesitant about Thursday. One of the reasons is because the company manufactures most of their boots in Mexico (their Vanguard Model is currently the only one made in the U.S.). However, I have learned that shoemaking in Mexico is just as much of an art as it is in other countries more known for the craft such as Spain and Italy. And it certainly shows as both pairs of boots we received had no quality control issues.
The other reason I was hesitant about their boots is because only a select few of their colors (regardless of the boot model) are made with the famous Chromexcel Horween Leather. However, I soon learned that the rest of Thursday's boots are made with their own branded leather from the equally well known Mexican tannery, Le Farc. After learning that Thursday's Boots were made with top notch leather, regardless of the tannery, and that the country of manufacturing did not play apart in quality control at all, I decided on the President Boots.
The boots also "feel" well made, the glove lining really helps and while being a lighter boot, they don't feel like they are going to fall apart anytime soon either. My lady plans to take her Downtowns to Rome this fall on our big trip so it will be cool to see how they hold up with all the walking we are going to do. (My shoes are yet to be decided for the trip haha!)
I am excited to compare these to other Direct-to-Consumer shoe companies out there, such as TAFT and Undandy, and see how the quality differs. At such good prices, these companies are becoming more and more popular. (For a ever growing list, click here.) I can easily say that all of them have a tough act to follow since I went with Thursday Boots first. -Stylin' Asian
